MAY 24 | CONFESSION: STILL GOOD FOR THE SOUL

As God reveals Himself to us, truths about ourselves are also revealed. Rather than being shackled by denial and pride, we can find freedom as we accept the truth that we are flawed and confess our sin to God and to others.

DIG DEEPER:

  1. What truth about yourself is hardest for you to accept? What truth about yourself is God trying to reveal to you?
  2. Is confession a regular part of your spiritual life?
  3. Use these questions from John Wesley for self-examination and confession with your T-Group or small group. If you're not part of a T-Group or small group, consider who you can meet with for study, worship, and confession.

PARENT CUES:

  1. This week we will be talking about how we should keep going because God knows the end of the story. How does this help you stay determined?
  2. Parents and kids: What have you felt determined to do this month? What have you felt determined to do while we have been in quarantine and social distancing?
  3. Discuss why you think it is important that we talk about determination. How can it help you in your walk with God?
  4. Parents, check out the article "Determined Parents" from Parent Cue.

TO READ THIS WEEK:

  • Psalm 32:3-7
  • James 4:4-10
  • Proverbs 28:13-14
  • John 8:1-11
  • 1 John 1:5-10

TITHES & OFFERINGS

During this health crisis, even though our meetings may look different, ministry is still happening. We ask you to join us in continuing to be faithful to God and generous to the mission of the church by giving online or mailing in tithes and offerings if you're unable to worship with us in person.

Online giving is a safe, easy way to give your tithes and offerings. All gifts are tax deductible and if you have questions about where our money goes, feel free to contact us for a copy of our annual budget, which is approved at our yearly business meeting.
