NEW SERVICE TIMES STARTING OCTOBER 5, 2025

Sunday School @ 9am

Sunday Morning Worship @ 10am

The first Sunday in October will start our six week series on unity and prayer. Over the last several months the ministry board has been discussing the long term vision of the church. One of the themes to come out of those discussions was the importance of prayer, especially prayer together, as we seek God’s will. During this time of special focus, there will be prayer cards each week with specific requests from different areas of ministry in the church. Our confidence is not in a particular plan or vision, but in the God who answers prayer.

Moving to a single service during this time will be an adjustment. Everyone’s routines will have to shift, and I won’t have second service to fix my failed jokes in first service. Most noticeably, you may arrive at church to find a stranger sitting in your usual spot. The hardest aspect of having multiple services is that people are often strangers to members of the same church who attend at a different time. Regardless of what the church decides moving forward we want this to be a time of re-introduction and tangible fellowship.

Another shift will be a change to children’s church. Instead of dismissing halfway through the service, families with children will check them in at the very start. I’ll be honest, this will make worship feel entirely different for those used to singing while also managing kids. Tania has been most excited about a longer time slot allowing for a more in depth lesson.

In all of our planning and discussion there has been an openness to following the Spirit wherever He leads. Here’s where you come in. Give us honest feedback as we figure out details. Join us in persistent, dedicated prayer. Get to know the “new” person who has gone to a different service the last two years. Let’s see what God does.

TRANSFORMING LIVES & COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE LOVE OF JESUS

At the Eaton First Church of God, we exist to see lives and communities transformed through the love of Jesus. For us, this specifically means:

Bringing the Gospel to those around us.

Jesus lived with a deliberate plan and purpose, he ordered his life around this single focus: “To seek and save the lost.” We commit ourselves to the same mission, reaching out to those who are far from God.

Strengthening families.

Through our own ministries for children and students as well as through outreach programs and partnerships with local help organizations, we are seeking to be a stabilizing force for families in our community.

Making disciples who make disciples.

We believe it is God's desire to see His followers lead others to follow Jesus as well. We as a church are striving to equip individuals to grow in their faith while also coming alongside others.
